This is a piece about my uncle and me. It is a reflection on my loss of innocence at age 11 and is created from three objects found at a dump in Maine.

This piece is inspired by the story of the miraculous Dionne Quintuplets born in Canada in the 1920s. They were taken away from their family by the government and raised across the street by doctors and nurses. The public could pay to view them through a screen roof as they played. This sterile upbringing, closeted away from the real world, scarred them for life.
Dionne doll sets were coveted by little girls all over the world. This doll is Yvonne, owned by my mother.
